Violey: I was put on statins and only... - Cholesterol Support

sorry to see you in pain. Statins cause all the symptoms you mentioned but different from person to another. your doctor may switch to another statin tuhat may have less effect on you. You should try to lower your dosage and start on a vegan diet with the approval of your doctor.
I have been on statins for more then a year now and some kinds had severe effect that i could not walk at one point of time. Anyway you have to find a balance between your dosage, diet and sports. I hope you find a comfortable balance soon and i hope if i was of any help
I came off statins in October 2016 after taking them for 19 months. I had to make a major dietary and lifestyle change in order to get myself into better health and not need the statins.
You can read about my experience in all of my posts referenced below:
Go back to your doctor and tell him you cant take them. No need to be in pain. That's not the objective.
I went off statins a month ago as i as almost crippled from them. It is a crime against humanity that doctors put people on them. It has been proved over and over that high cholesterol DOES NOT cause heart attacks strokes. It is the drug compnaies lying and manipulating research in the name off profits. I am almost normal no, have some residue pain in my thigh, as others have said, COQ10, Vitamin D , magnesium, it all helps. e need to group together and form a class action against these drug companies. The best off luck to you, I hope you get better soon.
PS, NO ONE needs statins, except the drug companies.
Absolutely agree with Sparky, the only people who may need statins are men in their fifties who have had a heart attack - in that case statins may help prevent another heart attack, possibly due to their anti-inflammatory properties rather than the lowering of cholesterol. For everybody else, their side effects far outweigh any benefits. My advice would be to stop the statins immediately- you can stop cold turkey, it won't be a problem - and start with the CoQ10 / Ubiquinol. But this is just my advice, I'm not a doctor; of course the decision is up to you. Good luck!
Why only in their 50's????
Don't know really - it's what you read and what the statistics show, as far as I understand: that statins have an impact on mortality only for 'middle-aged men who have had a heart attack'. 'Middle-aged' can be taken a bit more broadly of course, for instance between 49 and 75. In any case, for elderly people or for women of any age, a reduction in mortality has never been shown. I'm not sure what the story is with younger men.
Yeh reason i ask is i am 64. Dont believe everything you read, Especially on the internet.
