Thankyou for your reply i will have a look at her info.

My total cholesterol has been as high as 300!. LDL 200! And HDL only 45. I am fit exercise a bunch live in Colorado my whole life so up skiing hiking running...

I study alot about health/nutrition. Adding coconut oil to my diet, niacinn, 2g fish oil, ubiquionol and raw vitamin supplement...trying drink green tea but i love my am coffee. (I drink it filtered to strain out the cafestol oils that have been linked to elevate chol)

To look at me you'd never know I have this genetic dyslipidemia.

Ive fought statins and know med community wants a person on them far too prematurely..

I had a carotid ultrasound study looks at your intima wall thickness wich showed my L carotid age to be 65-74 yrs old! No plague yet though. But this could be genetic too.

I guess iam just scared as my dad i deed gad his 1st heart attack at 45. And died age 65 hsving a heart transplant.

Sorry if this is TMI!

thnku and any other tidbits on health/nutrition for chol pls lmk!

be careful if you take statins if you start to have any side effects stop right away please . I have tried 4 statins being told they just had to find the right ones I had lots of side effects including muscle loss which I am trying to right still after 2 years of not taking statins .

I take 3 plant sterol tablets daily , 1 opti omega daily ,lecithin granules, vitamin D ,llysine tablet these are all daily and I take 1 vitamin k2 mk7 100mcg daily to repair damage to my arm muscle from statins which is nearly 100% back to normal now .

my cholesterol was 12.1 it is now 5.3 without statins ,with all of the above and a low fat low sugar diet

I don't think its possible to say which Statin will give you less insomnia. When I started on Statins after my heart attack I was sleeping badly. Now years on I am still sleeping badly. Is it the Statins. I don't think so.

But like all drugs some suffer really bad side effects. Which Statin causes them depends on the person I think. We are different so the reaction is different. I am on Atorvastatin also. Had no problems although some will tell you I am kidding myself.

A lot of witch doctors out there.

I have broken sleep at night. I have been on statins for 25 years.

My wife has broken sleep at night. She does not take statins.

In times before 20th century, it was considered normal to be awake for a period in the middle of the night. There was even a name for that time of day. Now we try to blame it on drugs.

Not what you're looking for?
