I have a training course.
On Teams. Joy.
CAMERA's ON IS MANDATORY!
Can anyone explain to me why?
I don't want a whole day of the course looking at my disfugured tumour and a blood stained bandage.
NO CAMERA's MUST BE ON!
What the hell does this achieve (apart annoying those of us with visible differences). Are they going to monitor me listening for the entire day?
I may just decide to take the mick, warn them, then bandage my head totally and then tell training that they WERE WARNED and ignored it.
I think some people are just absolutely f--king nuts!
There are better ways to assess if people were paying attention.....
Aye yay yay.
Do please post any humourous anecdotes you have re this. I reckon we could do with a bit of a giggle! But the truth is, leaving people uncomfortable is neither funny, nor helpful to the overall team effort. Insane.
Hey my man CB! What's up? Looks like they want a piece of you there...what's that training about? is it a job training? Have you found out why they want cameras on? Let me know. For the moment, let them have it, man. Don't sweat it if that's what they need/want, I guess it won't last long (no training should be too long I guess).
Hi Solocat, yes it was mandatory training on how not to abuse customers. Because my role is within the UK financial services, which have to comply with our regulator, who need everyone to have such training!
In the end, i bit the bullet and said “ look the situation is this, therefore not happy about the all day camera!”
They thought about it, agreed and said “well lets fo this” and i just turned camera on where it was needed. Good result!
I hated having to share more than perhaps I wanted, but in the end, got the outcome i wanted. Result!
