Hi all, its 6 a.m, and it's D-Day.

Starting my general prep. now. Light breakfast before 7 a.m. Done. Two tablets have to be taken at 6 a.m. Done.

Can enjoy coffee for now, but then only water until 12 p.m, and even that stops.

Hopefully, touch wood, surgery is at 3 pm.

So far, feeling OK and not as nervous as I thought I'd be, but I'm still not certain what is going to happen.

My GP thinks that even the surgeons don't know, and they may simply remove part for analysis before deciding what further to do. Its easier for them to go back and do more, than undo something they find they shouldn't have done.

So if you find yourself thinking "how is Doctors don't know whats the issue here?", then yes, I very much get it. But as my new, and much regarded GP has said, they don't know everything. And if they are unsure, they will act with extreme caution.

So whatever happens today, happens.

Back soon, with and update!

8 pm and home safe. After some confusion, today turned out to be a biopsy. Now done. The post op toast and marmalade was never more welcome. So good in one way, but will be weeks still before we go remove my lump, assuming that its possible. But for now, home and cosy….

Hey, what a relief that part is over for you. Must have been stressful and then disappointing to realise the procedure was for a biopsy only. Confusion can be unsettling. Nonetheless, seems things are moving forward for you. Glad you were rewarded with marmalade on toast 🙂

Just an update. feeling good today, but resting.

Due to a slight paperwork issue, the op wasactually a biopsy (though that is still full surgery under local!). So had 13 hours nil by mouth, and then a procedure that went smooth as glass.

By the time we got home,we could hardly stand up, and Mrs CB had bags under her eyes too.

A demanding day, and one I'm glad to see we're past.#

But we have to gather our thoughts, and be ready to go again in a month or two's time.

[beep]! :-)

Looking forward to it.

Yep, it went smoothly. Just not the plan we were expecting!

So i definitely was well reminded that with anything surgical, be prepared for one plan, but be ready what happens in fact is something else entirely.

Feeuu, well good to know you're there, my man!!

Well, we are in the hands of our dear good doctors, who are not perfect themselves, so we must be the eyes that watch over the eyes that watch (...if that makes sense!), but I really hope that the new twist of events is something you can manage and that you may have some options to look into.

Dear Circuit, If there's something I can do, please let me know!

Bet you are relieved, thank god for toast and marmalade. Whether it is a biopsy or a full operation, the anticipation of an intervention is always daunting. The unknown is unsettling, I can imagine how stressful it can be for you and Mrs CB, no wonder she has bags under her eyes I hope you are both getting support from people around you. Keep your spirits up and be positive. Best wishes.
