Hi Bloomers1981 welcome to the Changing Faces community.
Thank you for posting and sharing about your situation with us. Sorry to hear you are finding self - acceptance hard and that you feel like you have zero confidence at the moment.
It sounds like things have been tough for you, but its positive that you have taken the step to share how you are feeling in an open and honest way. I hope you find this a friendly supportive space where you can connect with others and receive support.
Take Care

Hi Bloomers1981, differences are a part of life, political, social and different beliefs which we only know when we talk to other on these subjects and get to know them. Unfortunately facial differences are very obvious and so people instantly make judgements about us. Looking different is incredibly difficult to live with, but if we all looked the same it would be a boring world. Variety is an expression of creativity and sometimes those things created are unique, therefore should be treasured. Don't let the world's thinking and other people tell you how to feel or what you should look like. It was once widely accepted the world was flat, how wrong humanity was. It's a difficult journey accepting who you are and the way you look, but with support it can be done.
Thank you for your kind words and taking time to message
Hi Bloomers1981.
Welcome! Chat .... that's exactly what we are here for!
If you need to get something off your chest, or want to express your thoughts, there are plenty of folks here who will listen.
I find that really helpful!
We can't always know exactly how your feel. Your thoughts are very personal and unique to you. But we will have issues of our own and by listening to you, we will probably find that things resonate with us.
So talking probably helps us too, and you may find also listening to others helps you!
So welcome to you! I hope you find this site a support to draw from!
Kindest regards,
CB
Hi Bloomers1981 , welcome to the community!
Sorry to hear you've been struggling recently. Self-acceptance is a really difficult thing and something I'm still working on myself. I've learnt that confidence is definitely more of a journey rather than something you can just wake up with one day. And I'd say self-love plays a part in gaining this confidence.
It's taken me years to get to where I am today, able to accept myself for who I am no matter how I look, but the point is, it's possible. There are still days where I don't like what I see in the mirror or my confidence is low, but I allow myself to have those feelings and try to just keep moving forward the next day.
Bit by bit you'll get there and realise there is absolutely nothing wrong with the way you look. Differences are a beautiful thing!
Take care, I'm here if you need to chat🙂

hey buddy, I’m Dales, just turned 42, got Ramsay hunt 4 years ago and struggled with rehabbing neck and face muscles, getting strength and endurance back to where it was (now better than before!) but by far the most difficult has been the dislocation to the sense of self, that & being being poor!
Anyways here if you want to chat - have been a pt specialising in rehab for over ten years so probably have a few useful stretches we can share?
