Eye Hemangioma

Good evening. My daughter developed a hemangioma behind her left eye as a baby.

She is now 16 and although It is barely noticeable, there is definitely still a swelling. She has regular eye tests and her glasses prescription increases slightly every time. She has now considering contact lenses. Is this possible or is it a risk to the growth and/or her eyesight. I know nothing about contact lenses.

Many thanks

Hello Nicole and welcome to the Changing Faces community. I know it's been a while since you posted and I was hoping a member of the community with lived experience would offer some guidance. I wonder if your GP might be able to help? Or the medical professional who made the original diagnosis e.g. Great Ormond Street Hospital here in London are well-known for making such diagnoses and if your daughter had been under their care, that would have been a good option to check with. Best wishes, Dola
