Hi my name is Becky. I have a facial disfigurement through injury to my nose. I now wear a prosthetic nose and I would love to give support and advice to others that are struggling with facial disfigurement . I am a nurse and I'm always here to give support to others.

Hi Becky. Welcome to the Changing Faces community! Thank you for your post and your offer of support to people in a similar situation. It sounds like you have experience from personal and professional angles and I'm sure this will be welcomed by people.
Hi Becky- I'm Shelley. I have an acquired facial difference because of skin cancer surgery 2 1/2 years ago. I had a bcc underneath my right eye and now have a skin graft about the size of a penny there. It is quite pink and raised, does not blend in with surrounding skin. I found Changing Faces online while doing research after my surgery. I don't live in the UK though, I'm in CA. I wish they had something like that over here. I have been struggling with my appearance ever since. Do you have any advice for someone having a hard time accepting themselves? I keep comparing myself to before the surgery and I have so much anger. Thanks for any feedback.
Hi Becky I had a complete rhinectomy in May 2018 due to cancer (SCC). It has been a long road to recovery but am just starting to come out of the end of the tunnel. I have had magnetic implants and am hoping to take delivery of my new nose in the next week or so. I am excited but apprehensive too, particularly of the reaction I will get from friends and family. I want to now forget all about this visible difference and start living a normal life once again. Would love to hear your experience of those first few weeks. How long ago did you get your new nose? Are you happy with the design? Is it comfortable? Any tips and support would be much appreciated. Thanks.
