Good morning everyone,

How's it gone this week? Are you all sun-worshippers or is anyone else like me and just wilting for the past couple of days? I suppose that after my years in the tropics I should be better practiced with heat, but it is a matter of acclimatisation and also that our homes aren't equipped with anti-heat devices like air conditioning, something I relied heavily upon in my former life.

It's felt a bit 'brave new world' after the new freedoms about to be given back to us. Are you confident enough to go shopping yet? I've mastered that now, but I can't imagine in my wildest dreams wanting to visit a pub or restaurant yet. Quite apart from anything else it just doesn't seem sociable enough for me. I wouldn't be able to relax and enjoy a meal. It's hard enough dodging others in a supermarket. But we have to find a way back somehow. Not too sure why so many people wanted to pack like sardines on some of our beaches either, but do understand the longing to return to some kind of normality.

My hairdresser rang yesterday to invite me to make an appointment which I've done, and they are going to work a 7 day week in two shifts to allow for the social distancing aspect. They will wear masks and customers can choose whether to or not. So, unusually, I'll be having my hair cut on Sunday 12th July!

In the Caring realm, my sister is having to trail after her husband to make sure he washes his hands properly. She's tried to din it into him, but his dementia means he doesn't really have much comprehension of what's been going on for the past few months, and she discovered he was dangling his hands under the tap and calling it a day. I suggested she just rub his hands over with sanitiser frequently, as a second level of protection, now that it's more readily available again. Anyone else got any good ideas?

I hope that it's been a good week for you all. If not, please share your concerns with us. But otherwise enjoy the weekend, as best you can and all take care, as usual. 🔆😎

I’ve definitely been wilting and prefer slightly cooler days and nights. Pete and I are ok though and still happy to be at home. We are venturing just a few minutes away later today to a bbq with our son, daughter in law and granddaughter. It will be nice to be away from home for a little while. We will be social distancing of course.

I feel for your sister and think that sanitiser is good or maybe baby wipes. They are quite gentle.

I’ve not heard from my hairdresser so will see if they make contact. I hope you’re appointment goes well. I’ll be doing a shopping trip next Wednesday, wearing mask and gloves, to a supermarket with out daughter. Just round, grab and out. Won’t take long.

Enjoy your weekend. Xxxx😘🥰💖

Thanks for the suggestion of baby wipes sassy59! That's a good idea and I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me, as I am actually a big user of those myself. The thing with sanitiser is that it can be quite drying if you have to keep applying it. I'm sure that wipes would help a lot.

I hope you enjoy your BBQ. That sounds like fun, and that's the whole thing really. It is still possible to enjoy yourself without causing any breaches of social distancing.

Have a good weekend yourself! xxxx 🌭🌭🌭🔆😎

Even my wilt is wilting, this heat does me no good at all,i do like good warm weather ,but only viewed from my window,i cannot think of anything worse than being on a crowded beach full of sweaty bodies, and i dont hanker for a beach at any time,i think i'm more of an inlander.

i also dont understand people wanting to have a tan,i saw a lady yesterday sauntering along the road red as a beetroot and skin peeling off,not a good look.
