I haven't been on here much as I've been on the Positive Wellbeing forum a lot as some of you will know. I'd like to thank Callendersgal for passing on the news about my mum who died peacefully last Wednesday.

For the last year or so dementia took away the ability for her to recognise her own family, and the last 6 months of her life were spent in bed, not talking, eating or dtinking

We're waiting for her death certificate to be issued, and my sister is expecting a call from the Registry Office this morning, she's also spoken, last week, to the funeral directors and we're looking at a date towards the end of May, but nothing will happen until we get her death certifucste

Although Covid19 was in her care home she didn't have it but the funeral directors will treat her as if she did due to it being in the care home

So sorry for your loss JennyMary. Dementia changes everyone and is so very sad. I hope the funeral arrangements go without a hitch and the death certificate is forthcoming.

My thoughts are with you and family. May your dear mum rest in peace. 🌈🌹 xxx

Hi Jennymary, Glad to see you back at the Care Community but so sorry it is at such a really sad time for you. It's so tough when losing someone so precious to you as a mum, but in circumstances in which their life has been so diminished by dementia.

I do hope you'll get through all of the official steps needed so that you can arrange her funeral in the not too distant future.

And once again sending deepest condolences on your loss at this extra difficult time. 🙏
