Hi everyone (and especially sassy59 by special request), and anyone else who lives with cats.

Not an on-topic post at all, but just before I went on holiday I mentioned my cat Kasar, and sassy59 requested a pic, so here goes.....

Kasar's a five year old Bengal who, when he's good is very very good, but when he's bad.... he's horrid. Here, he's posing as if butter wouldn't melt in his mouth but he's quite feisty when the mood moves him.

Thank you so much Callendersgal for posting the photo of handsome Kasar. What an air of grandeur he has about him.

I can just imagine him when he’s none too happy especially when you went away.

Thank you once again xxxxx

Thanks sassy59. Yes I'm afraid he does feels very 'entitled' and is always letting us know who's in charge. (And it's definitely not the humans).

He looks like one pampered and dearly loved cat. He knows that he is special from his expression!

in reply toHellebelle

Thanks Hellebelle,

We really do love him, even when he's being obnoxious!

Maybe not an on topic subject but certainly worthy of being in the care community forums as it shows how much you care for your cat who I think is beautiful x

in reply toJennymary

Thanks Jennymary. I’ll happily admit to being the biggest softie when it comes to cats!

Ais he an indoor cat?

in reply tolell1

Hi lell1,

Yes Kasar is an inside boy. He'd love to think he's big and bold, but actually a leaf on the move makes him jittery!

Does he stay indoors? A friend of mine has a rag doll that throws herself out of open windows! I have another friend with 2 Bengalis who love to go walkies on their leads!

in reply tolell1

Gosh lell1, I thought Kasar was eccentric but he hasn’t tried skydiving out of windows (yet anyway). Nor will he walk on a lead, so he has no choice but to stay in, as we live on a very busy street.

How absolutely gorgeous! I am a big cat lover although we no longer have ours as they've lived their lives, sadly. He is really, really beautiful and such a nice picture. Thank you.

Hi Jackie66, Kasar says 'thanks for your compliment'. I probably should have had more sense than to have another cat at my age, but I've lived my life with them, having been given the first one of my own at the age of 5 by my late sister, and I still think it was the most exciting gift I've ever been given.

Oh I know, they are simply the best animals ever. I miss them every day, but I just can't do the "end" which stops me from beginning the cycle again. So sad, because we could offer them a really good life and home. I love his thanks, so cute!

At your age???? Nonsense!!!!!

I am 82 and couldn't bear to be catless!!! There has rarely been a time in my life when I have been catless, except when away being educated in one way or another. Even when I lived in France for several years I had cats which of course came back with me when I moved back to the UK. Right now I have two, Maine Coon crosses by the look of one of them. Huge, hairy and striped.

When I die, assuming I don't outlive them, they will go to one or other of my daughters who are also, naturally, cat people.

They are indoor/ outdoor cats, according to their wishes. There is a cat flap in the kitchen door so they can come and go as they please.

Catlessness is totally unthinkable!!

Fabulous blackjob!

You are so lucky to have reliable loved ones who will care for your cats if you predecease them.

I hope I have that adequately covered, and it is my only concern in having a cat in later life. Certainly, they are the perfect pet in older age. They are really self-sufficient and their needs are few , once they have established themselves as heads of household and have us humans well trained to bring home the kitty litter and, of course their food!

Your cats sound adorable. I wouldn't want to be turning this useful forum into a pet lover's club, but if you'd care to post a photo of them, I'd love to see it. (Or please feel free to send one via a private message). Very best wishes.

Am I the only one here that doesn't like cats??

in reply tolell1

I wouldn’t worry lell1, I’m pretty certain you’ll be in good company. Cats are probably like Marmite too. Everyone is different. For instance I’m scared of budgerigars yet my cat seems to love them 😋
