Well DAD’s Back AT Hospital After 3 Days Of Delirium

Well dad’s back at hospital with fluids and iv antibiotics AFTER chronic bout of delirium loss of appetite and would not drink.

Paramedics said vitals was all ok but something not right AND dad’s condition had me stumped too.

Only clue was eptopic bouts of breathless ANYWAY turns out dad had bad chest infection.

But given blood drawn at hospital I think this something more serious going.

On first vile of blood drawn it was just a clot EVEN doctor was tad surprised by what was drawn.

Clearly AM no expert but am not sure if clot Hypercoagulation is down to he’s Dementia Alzheimer’s or he’s blood pressure issues or something else.

Clearly HE’s Alzheimer’s Dementia Is Relentless Even Cruel AND any suffer deserves so much more IN terms of understanding compassion treatment ‘s

As from what have seen whitenessed just leaving stuff down to the conditions and delirium is not enough.

Dear JAS, it's upsetting news to read your Dad is once again admitted into hospital 😩 Part of me wants to scream from the rooftops " what are we Doing to help the ever increasing numbers of dementia patients ". The facts are there ....... each one of us has a 1 in 5 chance of being diagnosed with this cruel disease and the NHS cannot cope at the moment,so our generation will totally overload the entire system.

Your poor Dad, as did my dear Mum, suffer in my view, unnecessarily due to no sensible care plans etc. I'm a total supporter of our NHS but feel just like you that it is failing desperately with dementia care. 😠😠😠?!

Is for sure SHOULD not have to fight tooth nail for best Alzheimer’s Dementia Care Treatment and that’s how I feel

If someone healthy went to doctors with ailments AND was just ignored THE would not ware it.

But that’s how I feel those with Alzheimer’s Dementia are treated or not as case may be.

It’s criminal how ignored in modern society

I agree with Squirrels JAS and get very upset when I hear how your poor dad is suffering so. It’s too much for you and your family. Things need to change rapidly and I hope they do.

Wishing your dad well and hope he can get help, care and compassion.

Hi Hellebelie

Last few days not been great and with my own heart condition I can’t get worked up or let things get to me OR all be in hospital too.

I thought my dad would just forget stuff NEVER in my life did I think Alzheimer’s Dementia tourments suffers minds

If I could describe it ITs like his mind as turned against is conscience

It really is a cruel disease. My dad has a condition that has effected his brain and it's heart breaking to watch as a daughter.

It's comforting to know that people on this forum understand.

Hi JAS,

So sorry at this latest development for your dad. Thank you for updating us again on what's been happening with him. When someone hasn't posted for a while I do start to wonder how things are going for them. This obviously isn't such a good thing, for your dad or yourself, but, as usual, you are your stalwart self, fighting his corner as best you can. I'm sure you'll continue to be his best comfort. Very best wishes.

Good morning Jeff, sorry to here your DAD is not well again . It does not sound good. Having worked in dementia services some years ago I totally agree with you nothing should be left to the presumption that its existing dementia or other existing problems. To meet the compassion criteria all should be investigated and they should treat you the relative in a compassionate way too when caring for your dad's needs. However even this situation often fails due to time and manpower , are there no dementia volunteers at your hospital who can support you and your mum to get the best possible for your dads situation ?? Take care Jeff you are doing the best for your parents with little support from the sounds of it, would a supporter from Mind maybe be of some help if only for emotional support to your family and you . There comes a stage where we all have to look for some support and let others take the reins. Every best wish to you .

Hi Katie agree with everything said AS to Hospital as usual no reads patients notes 📝

Is tiering have to go through everything on each ward dad’s is moved to.

Got tad much today with heat and my condition NEARLY passed out myself having to explain again to nurses MY dad should not be isolated AS at risk of chocking ALSO had to tell them for million time dad needs physical help to eat and drink

But I can’t get worked up anymore BUT is so hard easy done

Good morning Jeff, its so frustrating watching your relative suffer the indignity at hospitals. Your story depicts how things really are in our so loved NHS. Not the flashy bits of paper floating round saying everything is fine. A simple thing like how is someone fed gets totally overlooked even if on the persons care regime . I feel there should be special wards for dementia impaired patients, with special equipment and extra trained care staff ( miracles sometimes do happen). In cases like your dads care is more important than anything else don't you think? What happens leaves a lasting mark on your memory as his relative. Take care my thoughts are with you everyday.
