Well dad’s just come out of hospital WAS only week stint for iv antibiotics re chest infection leg ulcer kidney infection.

For month I tried getting blood test for dad of doctors district nurses AND nothing THINGs come to head when dad would not get up because of back pain.

Well phoned ambulance well 111 and lets just say they need to get a grip when recived calls about unwell dementia Alzheimer’s patients.

Controller asked to talk to my dad and asked him to feel is belly and tell her if hot LIKE really my dad thought she wanted him to touch a pram.

I said to controller REALLY he thought I was walking on ceiling before

Hi JAS, your poor dad seems to be really going through it and that’s hard for you and family to see.

Everyone in the medical profession and yes 111 needs training to be able to help those with dementia/Alzheimer’s because they certainly don’t have the knowledge or understanding at the moment.

I hope your dear dad gets the help he needs and remember to take care of yourself too. Xxxxx

Hi sassy dad’s ok really WELL

now infection’s are sorted ... hospital looked after him good really even fed watered him

So that was one less worry LOOKs like all my complaining previously worked.

Two months ago dad’s gp wrote to incontance team and ask them to just prescribe pads AS dad would not tolerate the daft test AND like I have time to fill daft charts in AND not heard nothing from team ITs stuff like that .. that really ticks you off.

Try ringing continence team and see what's happening about pads You could Google the phone number or ask doctors reception if they have it for you In the home I work they come out and use a hand held scanner in stomach along bladder to determine the required pads

Hi vonnieruth I think days being civil with such agancy defo coming to an end

I think becouse to sick to play the games the decided to ignore us ... well that’s how feels.

With being unwell myself takes lot energy to care with out chasing stuff up endlessly

All give is so called social worker call roasting BUT have found they just like to sit on fence no mater how wrong things other anginces can be.

Now if was me in wrong well ad never hear last of it.

It's hard I know and very frustrating when we cannot get what is rightfully ours It's the modern day I guess too much happening not enough time to spend doing what needs to be done .

Hi JeffAjaxSmith, I've been wondering how things have been going for you and your dad, and glad to hear from you again, but only sorry that dad (and you) are having such a hard time once again.

I wouldn't argue that our medical services, from ambulance to hospital waiting times are far from satisfactory, and the reasons for it all being so stretched are very complex.

But that doesn't help your dad, does it? I totally empathise with your frustration when it's so hard to get things done for him.

All I can say is that you do a fantastic job of fighting his corner and I feel really confident that, with you in charge of his care, you'll manage to get the best that's currently available for him, even though sometimes that falls short of what you expect it to be.

Please take care of yourself as well as dad, and best wishes to you both.

Defo agree the could do with training THINK ambulance service could do with employing dementia admiral nurse.

Was a joke and I got quite frustrated with daft questions she asked me and then dad.

Only surprise was when ambulance turned up in 20 mins

To be honest I don’t really no how dad copes or even know how he really feels.

I don’t think I would be ever thankful if shoe was on my foot.

And think it’s that that bothers me when it comes to some in medical profession AND the lack of understanding compassion
