Today is the start of another weekend can I leave this with you.
I have a hoard of family that arrived last night by surprise, so it’s off to the shops and full on catering for me this weekend.

I don’t have such surprises as family live very close by and visit often.
My problem at the moment is that our daughter and family are going off to Kos tomorrow for a week. I will miss them terribly but they need and deserve this break. I will feed their lovely cat and count down the days until they’re all home again. Hoping they have a wonderful time of course.

Hi MAS_Nurse, Although unexpected, it sounds lovely to have a horde of family for a visit. It does make for a lot of extra housekeeping, but the good thing about family is that some of them at least are sure to pitch in and help.
Unlike my visitor of the past few days. I ended last week not looking forward to her arrival and am now happily getting over her departure. She was every bit as bad as I'd feared, and more, and if she ever gets in touch again wanting to stay, I shall claim to be just about to leave the country for a spell.
But with that now past, I'm looking forward to a birthday tomorrow and a visit from my lovely daughter, and to spending time with her.
I hope everyone else is able to enjoy at least a little bit of the coming weekend.

Hi there MAS_Nurse ,how lovely to have en mass of relatives/friends arrive at your home!!! Oh golly gosh,I have to be the party pooper here and say to you, that it wouldn't be on my top 10list of great surprises!!! But,I am a total kill joy at times and having literally enough family members to create the next generation and that's at a push,you can tell I don't do family surprises too well!
However,you will no doubt be in your element and guaranteed to have a wonderful time. So go and enjoy and ignore narrow minded people like me!😆😆
Hi, very mixed weekend. We went to my nephews wedding where he married his lovely fiance. The weather was beautiful and the venue amazing. It is a big old hall that is also a hotel, so the wedding party stayed there both before and after the wedding. We had a great time and caught up with family and friends.
My dad was discharged from the hospice after his assessment and was able to go to the ceremony.
He is now at home where he so desperately wanted to be. My mum, although pleased that he is home, is unfortunately struggling to cope. She is 82 and frail. We have a very good package of care with 2 carers 4 calls a day but it's the in between times where she is left to cope alone. The family help all they can but we can't be there 24/7. Mum wants to honour my dad's wishes but it's hard to see them both struggling. Life is joyous and beautiful at times but at the same time can be unbearably sad. Helen x
Hello Hellebelle and thank you for your post. It sounds as though you really enjoyed your nephew's wedding and it is great to hear your dad was able to go to the ceremony.
