Happy St David’s Day - Dydd Gŵyl Ddewi hapus to all our Welsh friends!
St David is the patron saint of Wales, a Celtic Christian monk who died 1st March in 587 A.D, and later canonised by the Roman church in 12th Century. The daffodil and leek are the symbols of Wales.
This week in the UK we’ve had unseasonably hot weather followed by seasonal showers. Our gardens and woodlands are bursting with new life, with daffodils and crocuses leading the charge into spring. It makes us all smile just looking at their sunny blooms and lifts our spirits. If you have had a trying week this week, may I encourage you to take a moment to go outside in the sunshine and gaze upon the beautiful flowers, breathe in the freshness of spring and release your stresses and tensions.
One thing that has made my husband and I laugh today is that although it is sad that André Previn has died, we remember with joy the sketch he did in 1971 with Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise. Eric was supposedly playing the Grieg’s piano concerto, only for André ‘Preview’ (as Eric called him) to reprimand his playing saying, he was playing all the wrong notes, to which Eric replied,’ I’m playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order’! Keep smiling my friends
