Welcome to you Mrsfazz, sorry to hear of your memory problems. Try not to panic as memory loss could be for several reasons.

On Tuesday phone your GP and get an appointment to talk about what’s been happening to you.

Do let us know how things go. Xxxxx

Mrsfazz, you may find this forum useful in relation to B12, making sure that test results are being interpreted correctly, and that you are on the correct treatment

Hi Mrsfazz, Welcome to our Care Community (I see from your profile that you've just joined us and I hope we can help you a little bit).

I can understand how worried you feel about this, and that you can tend to feel a bit helpless when it's a bank holiday weekend and you can't access your own GP practice.

If you can, try not to get too worked up and worried, as practically speaking, memory loss is a slow process and not an emergency situation, so nothing will be altered by waiting a couple of days to see someone at your own GP practice.

But, and it's a big but: if you are panicking to the extent that it's affecting your mental well-being then there is emergency help out there.

Firstly there is the 101 telephone service, and also, if you look online or in a telephone directory, you may see that there is a walk-in centre local to you, where you can go without an appointment and get some help and advice.

So, to summarize, if you feel able to, it won't be harmful to wait until you get a regular GP appointment, but if you can't handle the wait, call 101 or, if you have one, attend your local walk-in centre.

Very best wishes, and I hope you get the reassurance you need, soon.

Have your thyroid checked as underactive can cause memory issues.
