Well it's Friday again. Yes let's see what ,makes us feel good and have you overcome any thing this week?
I have had several incidents of the most excrutiating pain, you can guess it is dental pain again and no there were no emergency appointments left for me last weekend and no pain relief that worked!! Four days later I got to see my dentist and lovely he has sorted things out and I live again. No this is not the worst thing to happen but I feel so much better having overcome this ordeal?
Have the best time you can and give yourself a pat on the back for all you are coping with
Best wishes

Had a wonderful weekend on the Isle of Wight and Pete did really well overall. Nice to get away.
Hope everyone has a good week and so pleased you are no longer in pain. Dentists are amazing. Xxxxx👍😘
Commiserations MAS_Nurse and glad to hear your dental pain has now been sorted out. A week can be an awfully long time with toothache!
My week's been busy! Turning 70 had set off invitations for several routine medical appointments. Firstly I decided to take up the offer of the vaccination against shingles, having seen my last husband going through hellish nerve pain for a good two years after an episode of shingles. Although it's known not to be 100% effective, here's hoping it'll work for me!
Then my last routine mammogram today, whilst I decide whether I should ask to stay on the list in future. What have those of you over 70 done about this? I'm in two minds.
On a lighter note, I had birthday money burning the proverbial hole in my pocket and I went off to town on a spree and came home with a lovely blingy pair of Skechers footwear. Comfy AND glam!
I hope that everyone else has had a good week and not too many problems!
I'm having a tough time, yes the sun is lovely, but where I'm now so sensitive to it I've been going out only when I need to, to make that situation worse my dark wrap around sunnies which are on loan from the low vision clinic, on Tuesday the hinge on one of the arms snapped, I cannot get hold anywhere of the phone number of the optomitry dept to find out what to do, thankfully I've got another pair although not as dark, i emailed the support nurse on Wednesday asking her to email me the number, at time of writing this she hasn't replied, I could have gone for a staff training/sports day today and been paid for it, as it's outside I haven't gone so getting really fed up now
Hi Jenny Mary, So sorry you are feeling so fed up. Just to say I hope you get this sorted out soon. I know the sun isn’t great for everyone. Hang in there.
Hi Mydexter,
Thanks for your birthday greeting. I turned 70 at the beginning of June and like you find it amazing that I seem to have got here so fast! But I feel OK with it and I hope it’s the same for you.
I got an automatic invitation for the shingles jab, once I turned 70. It’s only available for 70-80 year olds so if you don’t get a letter after that magic birthday, do ask, as you’re eligible then if your general health passes muster. And our practice nurse says it costs the NHS £99 per dose so they must feel it’s a good thing to have.
I’ve just packed my Skechers for an overnight stay away this weekend but I will definitely show them off in a pic when I get back! Thanks again, take care and have a good weekend.
