Tongue size

My sons is 5 mo old and his tongue sticks out of his mouth it seems really long but not fat does this get larger with age?

Every child is different. Livvys grew dramatically after being born. She's now had 3 ops and it seems to b fine now still a little thicker but its mAinly in the mouth now.

My son Was just diagnosed with BWS three weeks ago. It has been tough to accept and So far the internal things that can happen scare me. he had his first ultra sound it came back clear thank god but I'm trying to find out as much info as I can about this syndrome. Thank you

dont panic and look positive my daughter was quite servere at birth but to look at her now u would know any different she is a normal looking beautiful 16 yr old x

That must have been hard, finding this out. Liv was diagnosed while in the womb so I had time to find out about bws.

My daughter's tongue grew considerably after birth. But, this was mainly in the first 6 months, so if his tongue hasn't grown much already then maybe it won't. I know the dramatic growth doesn't apply to all children (in fact, I believe its not common!)

my daughter is now 16yrs had a tongue reduction age 11 months ..at the time we was told that the tongue grows slower than the rest of her body but her tongue still stuck out the same amount 11 months later so it grew at the same rate ....her tongue is very very thick and they now want to do another reduction and also to help her speech
