Hi all. I was diagnosed with Fatty liver a year ago. I'm just waiting for my latest bloods to come back and to get a new FIB-4 score (last year's was 0.79, so low risk). My ELT is high at 99.
I didn't do too great in response last year, but this year I've turned around my diet and my drinking is very minimal now.
One thing I cannot find out from the GP is why I have an almost constant pain in my right side under my rib cage.
Is this normal for my situation? Is it made worse by certain foods etc?
Can anyone associated or help?
Thanks vm 😊

People with liver issues often report pain in that area. I think it is particularly true with an inflamed liver since it may push against other structures and that can cause pain. There are other causes of pain in that area as well such as gas, etc. so it may or may not be your liver. Alcohol could certainly bother a fatty liver, as could too much sugar or fried foods. Did you have a fibroscan as the basis for your diagnosis?
It will be helpful for you to see the blood tests. That shouldn't be long. Did you have the pain at the time of your initial diagnosis? I hope you feel better and get good results!
Thank you. I've had the. Sensation of it for a while now and since before diagnosis. But now it's a real pain and seems to be made worse by sitting or by being cramped up.
