Dose scarring on the liver mean you definitely have Cirrhosis? I can not seem to get a straight answer from Dr's. I was told in 2023 I have fatty liver. Then the beginning of last year I got told I have Cirrhosis after a fibroscan. Then towards the end of year I had another fibroscan and my results were cut down by half and had another ultersound I got told was fatty liver not Cirrhosis. Went to see Dr yesterday he told be that my spleen is inlarged so that would indicate scarring and there is some degree of scarring on my liver. And the only way to be sure is biopsy but because I have autoimmune disease they are a bit reluctant. DR wants me to do a drugs trial but if a choose not too DR will just see me again in 6 months . I have no clue if a have Cirrhosis. Spent 2 years going backwards and forwards still do not have an answer. Been told its a gray area. Spending all my time riddle with anxiety if I was just to know if it was Cirrhosis or fatty liver and what stage then a will be able to accept it work on my Anxiety. I Feel like I'm stuck in limbo !!!

Are you having 6 monthly ultrasound scans and bloods? This is the minimum monitoring for cirrhosis with there actually being no treatment for cirrhosis - only for any symptoms that might arise due to it. So if you are already having 6 monthly scans then they are doing what they would do for patients with confirmed cirrhosis.
What seems to be fully confirmed in your case is the fatty liver - this is an area you can work on to potentially make improvements although you have some other health issues that may also be contributing to the NAFLD/MASLD (Fatty Liver).
If you are symptom free of the things that come along with cirrhosis then you are doing ok and even if it is cirrhosis then your liver is compensated and doing ok. Any other changes should be picked up with regular monitoring and screening and that's all they would do with someone with cirrhosis too.

Have you had a ultrasound if so what did it say
Hello. I feel like youve just wrote what im feeling and im only 3 mnths diagnosed. Ive yet to see or speak to a consultant and have been told im on a large waiting list of over 500 plus patients. I was told stage 4 cirrohsis 24th nov. Ive had an ultrasound (dont know results) and endoscopy (clear with no varrices). Man who did my endo said he knew he wldnt find anything due to my reports and didnt feel a biopsy was needed as didnt see anything untoward.
I proactively get my bloods done every 6 weeks myself by asking my doc to do it to check my liver function.
If you have been doing this for 2yrs id be demented too. Its a minefield and i feel your pain.
I feel so good just now im like how can i hve cirrohsis.
