After being told my liver was too bad to ever get a transplant and on my 60th birthday spent in hospital I was told I probably wouldn't see Christmas.
I was 63 in October and on Boxing Day I was 1000 days without a drink.
I have now also been put on the transplant list.
It is tough, but I decided I'd had more than my share of booze over the years and take a day at a time. I look for progression not perfection.
The decision to stop drinking was the hardest decision to take and maintain, but as a wise person once said about bad breath, Halitosis is better than no breath at all. Choose Life x

Keep it up I know from being on the otherside of this journey how difficult it is for you but you are to be congratulated for taking that decision and so pleased to hear you are on the transplant list. My husband was the same and had successful transplant in October and so far recovering well and strong so yes it can be done and well done for choosing life for you and your loved ones.
Happy New Year and wishing you all the best for the future
Go to the "top of the Class". I am sure you won't be in line for detention after school. You are doing remarkably well and, if everyone had the same mind set as you, a Knighthood would be well deserved. Best of luck with your TP and your future life - it is so precious.

I think that is wonderful news. Well done you. It is hard. I have cihrossis too and I'm 62 today. Like you, I'm lucky to be here and I'm so happy I am. Drinking just isn't worth it and I feel much better sober. I took up painting - very therapeutic. Happy New Year, may there be many more of them. Best wishes Golly xx
