On this date June 15th 2013 at 1445 I was wheeled into the operating theater to have my liver transplant. Today I raise my glass of water in appreaciation to the transplant team, but also a big, big thank you to the donors family for making such a big decision at such a sad time, whoever you are THANKYOU.
12 months.: On this date June 15th 201... - British Liver Trust
12 months.
Brummi congratulations on the first year. Here's to many more
Thank you. I hope everyone gets the high level of treatment I have received and gets well soon...
Congratulations Brummi, for your anniversary, and your appreciation of your donor family. I think of mine on a regular basis.
Thank you, I still have a few small problems to deal with but I will get there.
Congratulations on your first year it's always a mixed emotions day on your transplant anniversary a because its a second chance at life b you will always think of the donor and family well done
Thank you jamieh . I still have a few problems to sort out, maybe they are down to having my liver branded but I will get there..
Congratulation on your first year. I read about the branding in the news paper that's shocking. I'm on the transplant list so waiting and hoping for normal life again. Good luck with every thing
Thank you. Test are still being done over the branding but I do not judge all the consultants the same...
That's really good news, its great when you hear the positive side to this disease, good luck and I'm sure donor and family will always be in your thoughts, may I ask where surgery was done all the best to you. Angse
I wish you many more, live life to the full (as I guess you are doing) as a way of demonstrating appreciation to the donor's family, I hope I can join you in celebrating my transplant in the not too distant.
Thank you I'm sure all will be well with you in the end.
I totally agree with you Brummi. I had a transplant 18 months ago and feel exactly the same as you. The team at St Jame's hospital were excellent and I returned on my 1st year anniversary with a present for them.I intend to do this annually for as long as I can. In addition I regularly think of the donor's family. I also encourage people I meet to join the organ donor's list and try to respond to questions that are posed to me in this trust.
Congratulations Brummi. Thank you for sharing xx
Brummi did he ever say why he did it?
No Mama41 he would not say or would he say how many he has done. He has took the easy way out and resigned, so now no one will know. Also in doing that he leaves with his reputation intact and still able to work, he also may still get his pension.
Congratulations Brummi. And a big thumbs up to all donors.
Without blood donors, my son who had leukaemia wouldn't be alive today. Very humbling.
Brummi words fail me. I'm glad you're doing so well though
Congratulations !!! A year post transplant is such a fantastic milestone well done ! I get goose bumps when I think of donors, how selfless must they and their families be? To be able to set aside their terrible grief to give consent for donation really is to be admired. I think of my donor and his family every single day ( my 1 yr anniversary is 4th August). Life will never be as it used to be, there will always be bits n bobs going on but hey its still a good life. We are very very lucky eh. Loads of best wishes Brummi, and keep well
Hi congratulation on you first year. Mine is on 05/08/14 so not long now. I have called hin David and we chat all the time. Mostly me telling him to behave himself. I was only told he was a young lad in his early 20s. Had a few ups and downs but getting there after all I am alive so wey hey. I have heard of this branding but not looked into it. What is it? I know I don't had a gall bladder now but had to ask about that after reading it on the foram. Anyway great news that you have reached your first anniversary may you have many more. Keep positive and keep smiling.
