High serum ferritin

Littlemisssunshine12 profile image

I’ve had a few blood tests over a three month period and my serum ferritin levels have been increasing (currently 350ug/L)

I’m seeing a liver specialist as I have a hemangioma that has grown.

The liver dr kind of laughed at my concern at the iron levels and didn’t think relevant.

He has referred me for a MRI for my liver.

Has anyone had this combination of high ferritin and hemangioma or are they even related?

One of the things that can cause high ferritin is hemochromatosis, a genetic condition. In that case your iron panels might also be off. I don't know anything about hemangiomas. Wishing you the best.
