I’ve got ongoing liver issues due to alcohol, which I am seeking help for. I had a Fibroscan 6 months ago with a kpa of 7 and S2 fat (268). The heptologist advised to keep drink to moderation and eat a healthy diet and to rescan in 6 months. Recent ultrasound a few months ago shows fatty liver with mild spleenomegly. I have avoided alcohol for a week however recent bloods showed, when drinking a few weeks back GGT raised at 120, GP advised this is due to the alcohol and not a major concern but need to cut back and abstain if possible. AST and ALT, Bilirubin, ALP are all normal. I am trying to remain abstinent now. Will a Fibroscan be accurate now when they refer me (the 6 months re scan is due) with normal bloods but raised GGT?
Thanks
Dave.

Fibroscan is most acurrate with no inflammation markers up. How ever, you are in a good place, if you act now and stop boozing. No serious inflammtion, yet. You need to get rid of the fat and live healthier.
