I have liver cirrhosis and I’m 2 years plus post diagnosis. I have started having yellow poop and my eyes are going a little bit yellow at the bottom. I have been to get my bloods done but I just wanted to see if this would be most likely billrubin? And if anyone else has had similar experiences. I live a healthy lifestyle these days, don’t drink or smoke anymore.
Thanks in advance
Kev

Thanks for the reply appreciate it. I mean yea I do have itchy skin but nothing more than usual I don’t think. Is there something I can do to improve this?
Signs of jaundice (yellow eyes) and itchy skin (pruritus) suggest that bile acid is entering your blood stream; this is called cholestasis, which unhelpfully means sluggish bile acid. You need a serum bile acid test to see if your levels are elevated; you can have elevated bile acid levels and normal bilirubin levels.
Yellow poo indicates bile acid disorder. If this continues and/or you get ongoing diarrhoea, this is diagnosed via a bile acid retention test called a SehCAT scan.
Your GP might be able to do a serum bile acid test but only a gastroenterologist can do a SehCAT test.
There are drugs for these conditions but the tests are the first step. It's guess work otherwise.
