Yellow eyes

Hi can't understand why there's been some people showing pics of their eyes asking if they are yellow. To me ud know if they were yellow without asking. Before my transplant mine were extremely yellow cudnt c any white . Thks.

Hi Steak,

Most of us that have been jaundice know that. Think alot of the people who post the question are young or have health anxiety. They just need a little reassurance. Most join just before posting so are unsure of the rule relating to it.

I think people who post pics are looking for reassurance, usually before wanting to bother their GP. We aren't qualified to give advice, but sometimes we can give them a nudge to seek medical advice if they are worried. I know I have sought reassurance from this forum and am grateful for it.

Ive suggested to the trust that they post a pic of jaundiced eyes so potential posters can see exactly what they look like

Thats so true steak and exactly what l say to posters. They are actually looking for yellow in their eyes. You don't need to look for it is is starklingly obvious..... totally unmistakable.

It is generally the worried well. I have yet to see a post which, in the general opinion of the board, needs attention. Laura is right it’s often young people who have got concerned about their consumption.

A lady once saw me on the liver ward and she said to her friend "I wish I had jaundice I think it looks sexy" Seriously !! I thought well you can have it lady along with everything else that goes with it.

I think posting a pic is a good idea then those that know what yellow eyes look like are not screaming NO at the screen when an eyeball appears.
