Slightly yellow eyes?

It has been brought to my attention that my eyes looked a little yellow. I have been a chronic drinker for years, i am going to get checked out as soon as I can. I have since been abstaining from alcohol, just curious if you can be slightly jaundice or if it tends to be a full blown thing.

Hi

How are you feeling this morning?

Tbh it doesn't look like jaundice to me but I'm sure someone on the forum will be along shortly to help. Take care Lynne

Hi Myln, it doesn’t look like it to me. However I found that photographs don’t pick up what the eye can see in reality. I’ve recently had Jaundice twice in quick succession. Along with yellow eyes your wee can get darker, mine was brown (not dark yellow) and stools can become really pale (mine were beige) you can feel incredibly tired and what hit me the most was nausea almost constantly. It’s absolutely awful.

I think you can be slightly jaundiced, because when I was admitted to hospital in January, the consultant said I was ‘slightly jaundiced’ .... I then became horribly so.

A blood test should show whether you are or not quite easily, which you can get from your GP, and they will also check other things for you before you start your new healthy living lifestyle 😊

Hi Myln. You're doing the right thing, get checked out by your GP. Impossible to tell from a photo but your eyes look clear to me. Just don't become paranoid about it. Stay away from the booze, you will feel so much better for it and you won't have anything to worry about.

Good luck

Laura

Good morning Myln,

Unfortunately no-one on this forum is medically qualified to offer a diagnosis from a photograph, also photgraphs can be notoriously difficult to interpret.

If you have concerns regarding your health or lifestyle, may I suggest you arrange to see your doctor.

Well done on your abstinence, that is certainly recommended for long term liver health.

Best wishes,

Trust9
