We are not allowed to comment on photo's nor are we qualified to do so. Your doctor should be following this up with you. If your bilirubin is normal it isn't jaundice so perhaps has another cause which your doctor should be investigating.
We are becoming a bit of a tag team, either you or I get in with the 'party line' first on these posts - I mentioned to BLT that although we were all saying it was against forum rules, up until a couple of weeks ago it didn't actually say so in the forum rules/guidelines but it definitely does now.
You getting enough sleep? Your eyes exposed to any chemicals. Cover all areas but do not worry about it. Many on here seriously ill, you have a lot of years ahead to enjoy your life, be moderate in everything, love being alive, investigate but don’t be nosy and most of all relax!!
Hi,
We did write a post regarding photos of eyes last week. Here is a copy:
Whilst we do appreciate that people are worried about jaundice, can we remind all members that this is against our community rules- see pinned post.
Photographs are very difficult to clearly see, and no one on the forum is medically qualified to assess for jaundice.
We would suggest that you should always see your own medical doctors for a complete physical examination and discussion of symptoms.
Or alternatively, if you are very concerned and your skin or the whites of your eyes look yellow or you may also have itchy skin, darker pee and paler poo than usual- call NHS 111 immediately.
If the whites of your eyes are yellow it is likely Hepatitis or Liver disease. Get blood test results and use a MELD calculator to determine if liver disease is possible.
Interesting, my eyes are the same and I have had that for about 10 years now. My bilirubin is elevated slightly and have done a lot of testing as I have abdominal pains and other concerns - but doctors said nothing wrong.
I have similar yellow patches, I saw an optician about it as my eyes get really dry and sore. Turns out it’s a common thing called pinguecula, areas of damage caused by the suns rays and/or wind. I always try to wear sunglasses now. Just a thought.
My bilirubin levels, twice year, and towards the end of last year, were well within 'normal' limits, yet my eyes look, and have looked, for as long as I can remember, similar to this.
I don't know for sure but I've always assumed that is was because this is the bit that is exposed to the environment. My yellow patches are narrower, though, and if my assumption and the post above are correct then presumably then because I squint a lot...
