Liver Palms

Hi everyone. I have been diagnosed with fatty liver and have the red "Liver palms" I have been told this is a warning sign for a damaged liver. I have been abstaining for 2 weeks now.Can anyone tell me roughly how long this will last or does it only go away when my liver is back to normal?

Thanks in advance.

I was diagnosed with a fatty liver too and I thought my palms were red because I googled doctor Google that ended up telling me I had every system of cirrhosis. I went to my doctor and gastro doctor as well and they both looked at me and said my palms are not liver palms plus people can have red palms due to their nature of blood flow to there hands and feet it’s call circulation. Plus all my blood test were perfect so try not to stress because it nearly killed but quit drinking and the stress will start to go away and you will start forgetting about your palms and stop looking at yourself trying to find another system and start looking out in a new beginning a positive beginning but that’s only up to you

Hi Danzig.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not really sure if its only bad circulation. Dr Google says its connected to liver problems. It is stressy as its a constant reminder of my problem. I figure if it starts to go away,Im on the right track.I´ll see what my G.P says after a few months off the booze. Time for a new beginning .

Cheers

Yes definitely stop the drinking and you’ll start feeling better I promise

It will probably never go even if you abstain for life so don't use it as a judge for your livers health.

Plenty of other reasons for red palms and not everyone with liver disease gets them.

Slightly higher percentage of liver disease victims get red palms than "normal" but as a diagnostic tool it's useless.

Thanks Roy,

I want to believe it will go away as my liver gets better as its a constant reminder of the problem. Dr Google says its because of underlying problems and will go away when the problem is fixed. I´ll report back in a couple of months. Maybe there is an improvement.

Cheers

Having the same issue, was also diagnosed with fatty liver, have your palms gotten better? I'm afraid I have something the doctors missed. Thanks.
