can a person with cirrhosis always have normal blood reports, or the reports can be high as well as low during monthly tests? I just learned that if a person has cirrhosis their blood reports may look normal, so does the report always be normal or it can be high suddenly?

blood reports for liver
I have cirrhosis and my bloods are normal…but that certainly wasn’t the case when I was first diagnosed nearly 3 years ago. Mine was alcohol related and I immediately stopped drinking and haven’t touched a drop since my diagnosis. My bloods have returned to normal as my liver health has improved. My scans, however, show cirrhosis. My liver is coping ok with the damage I’ve done and is compensating to perform all its functions…hence normal bloods. Bloods can fluctuate as they only measure things at the point in time the tests were done, this is why there is a ‘normal’ range in lab results. If I went outside this range then my consultant would want to investigate.
I test every month my test reports are always normal but i was diagnosed with fatty liver grade 1 3months back and only that time the blood reports were bit high ,but after that every month i get normal reports ,i am just scared if it turned to cirrhosis or it’s still fatty liver ,can a fatty liver just shoot up to cirrhosis within 3 months ?
Cirrhosis takes years to develop, it certainly wouldn’t go from fatty liver with slightly elevated bloods to cirrhosis in 3 months. As I say, bloods are at a point in time and can move around a bit. It’s why doctors always repeat blood tests if results are a bit elevated. They look at trends, so the fact yours returned to normal is great. Try not to worry - it sounds as if you are being monitored frequently.
Hello
Test results vary according to both the individual’s whole health and the laboratory analysing the results and should always be interpreted by the user’s own health care professionals.
We suggest talking this through with your own doctor or health care professional.
