I have been experiencing a strange range of symptoms of a long period of time and they’re all starting to link to maybe my liver. I will go to my doctor as soon as possible but is this stuff I shouldn’t be worried about? I’m 27y F for reference.

Background -

•Blotchy hands as long as I can remember, noticed around age 6, never said anything thought was weird but deemed normal

•Have never been able to get drunk, just sick

•Started vomiting stomach bile most mornings around 19y (determined anxiety induced)

•I haven’t shown my hands to my doctors ever, other than when I was pregnant which the redness is normal at this time so nothing was said

Past 3 years -

•Long term (9m) use of ondansetron at 24y

•Noticed palms and fingers red, asked parents and siblings their hands normal

•Started experiencing right side abdo pain around 6m pp

•Treated for assumed PID

•Continue thinking gyne issues are causing the pain

Past year -

•Gyne ultrasound normal 12m pp, continued right side pain, suggested nerve entrapment, pain continues now being felt in back too

•Early miscarriage - referred to public for gyne ultrasound (yet tbc)

•Irregular periods

•Right shoulder pain

•Back abnormally itchy at night

•Skin capillaries burst when scratched

•Spider veins on ribs more on right side

Past week -

•daily headaches

•heart palpitations diagnosed PVC unknown cause, bloods for thyroid normal

•notice my fingernails have become pale

•increased right side abdo pain

General wellness -

Pee - dark

Stool - normal but often constipated

Fatigue

Loss of appetite & full easy

Weight loss (30kg over 6yrs unintentionally)

Bloating

Generally feeling unwell

Vertigo

I know no one is replying but I’m going to update because it could be helpful for anyone who stumbles across this. Today I saw my GP who too was afraid for my liver, noticed my iron was normal but on the lower side so I think he’s hoping for my sake my symptoms are anaemia caused. I’ve had blood drawn to test my liver function and I guess other necessary counts, should hear back tomorrow. Has prescribed me iron in the time being to see if it helps with symptoms, he noticed inside my eyelids were very pale too.

Hi, my daughter has low iron (not very low) but has some of your symptoms aswell as losing her hair. She was told at least 3 months on iron to notice a difference, but did start to notice reduction in symptoms after 4 weeks. Hope that helps. As for liver function blood tests, I hope you get some results soon. An ultra sound scan should show any damage to your liver and most likely the next step after your blood test if it comes back with poor liver function. Keep asking questions. Thank you for your help and sharing the info re your daughter, I haven’t experienced hair loss that I’ve noticed just yet but have started taking the iron as a just incase.

Hi, people on here are not suppose to comment on pictures. I can understand your worried & this seems to be going on a long time for you. You need your liver function tests results to come through and if need be your GP should arrange for a scan. I hope you get it all sorted soon.

Sorry no one has replied helpfully to you. Now that your GP is on board I hope you get some answers .

My partner had weird symptoms and thought he was anaemic but it turned out he has iron overload (haemochromatosis)

I also have off symptoms and have raised bilirubin, most of my family reacts oddly to alcohol and it's likely it's genetic (Gilbert's syndrome).

Don't give up trying to find answers, I understand how alone it can make you feel.

Thank you for your help. It all is very strange. I thought maybe was iron overload too but in the case my iron would test high rather than low? Am unsure and will see what my dr says once my blood tests return.

I have never been a drinker so for me personally alcohol isn’t in the picture but it’s interesting they act oddly - I’ve never been able to feel “drunk”. Just sort of wobbly then an hour or so be sick.

I had hands like yours but eventually they cleared up still very faint but I’m not concerned. All the best

About a year ago never did anything about it or tried any creams, it’s still slightly visible but a lot better. All the best.

Yes you have a lot of symptoms ( actually like myself).Are you able go eat?

I also have severe weightloss, unable to eat.

Do you have heart symptoms? Palpitations, tachycardia?

Yes lots of symptoms it’s so hard to pinpoint to even begin a discussion with my GP. I went into the appointment with focus on my liver and managed to get my struggles across clearly which helped. I do have heart palpitations - only recently in the last 2 weeks. My doctor has diagnosed them unknown cause for the time being. My appetite is very minimal. I haven’t eaten a full meal for months and struggled with appetite for around 8 years. Thank you for your help

I have exactly the same problem. I am very unwell with noquality of life. I have not eaten a meal either for many many months. I did have a liver biopsy which showed I have Nodular Regenerative Hyperplasia of the liver

am just thinking about a strange symptom I have become so used to but wondering if any others have experienced it also. Since I started vomiting stomach bile most days around 8 years ago - my ear canals are also oddly sooooooooo itchy like nothing can satisfy the itch. Strange ?
