Hi been on here a while but silent.I was diagnosed with NAFLD 2 yrs ago, iron was quite high. Fibro scan was 25 and I have type 2 diabetes for 7yrs. Iam 56.
Fibro scan now down to 9 & bloods normal. At my last uss in july they found an abnormality 15x10mm at top of the liver. I have just been told this and have to have a MRI on Thursday. Letter says unable to exclude a sinister pathology. I'm guessing this means cancer. Very scared now. I don't have any symptoms never have. Has anyone been through similar?
Thank you.

Originally yes but in September the consultant said its fibrosis.I'm concerned that they have missed this as my uss was in July and it's just been checked now. Thank you.
I go every six months for MRIs, for years. I have primary biliary cirrhosis. And have had abnormalities. They watch them. To make sure they’re not growing or changing. Thankfully might have stayed the same.
Take a nice cup of chamomile tea and remember that we're all on a long journey not a race. Ultrasounds are not as clear as MRIs. As someone has said, they will measure the lesion and then check it with follow up MRIs to make sure it doesn't grow. If it's truly suspicious they will take a sample of it.
