Well Done Lon, the only advice I'll offer now is to be wary of a post-transplant mental health condition known as "Survivor's Guilt". This can often happen especailly if the need for a transplant was due to alcohol abuse.
Some people (like I did) spent days on the ward feeling tearful and very emotional. Other's can experience a condition simular to PTSD even some six months post-transplant. While other's end up having no emotional problems at all.
It took me ove ten months to deal with my emotional issues. It's only when I read a book by Prof Ed Bullmore, entiteld "The Inflamed Mind" that I realised that the emotions I was feeling weren't so much of my own making, but were being caused by my immune system which was working on the surgical damage caused during to operation. Understanding this gave me a form of acceptance and the guilt was lifted.
I often refer people to a video as it has helped others in the past. It’s easy to understand how the cytokines can cross over the blood-brain barrier and alter a person's mood and drive this feeling of guilt.
Great news 😊. Enjoy and make the most of it. Not sure if you are on any of the Birmingham Liver Transplant Facebook groups, but if not they're worth joining. Who knows, you may like this exercise lark and want to perhaps try out the Transplant Games, lol. But all in good time. Take it slow, build up gradually and just enjoy the process.

Really good to get this update, I’m so pleased to hear you are doing so well and your post will be such a support for those awaiting transplant who might be a bit apprehensive about it all. Well done the wonderful NHS too.
