Wrote a post few days ago saying how I’ve got excruciating pain in my spleen.
Well I’ve now found out the reason as I lie in bed in hospital. I’ve been kept in as earlier today had a ultrasound and ct scan with dye which showed fluid on the spleen.
I was so worried as you do but was told they’ll treat it as an infection with antibiotics and hopefully fingers crossed I’ll be outa here in a few days.
So wanted a hospital free year after the nightmare of cirrosis which culminated in a TP.
I didn’t expect an easy ride but I’m still here and with my twelve months approaching surprised at how well I’ve recovered..... paul

Sorry to hear that your back in hospital, but glad that they have found the reason for your pain. It's very interesting to me, as I have constant capsule pain, and am having a CT scan on Monday to see if anything is causing it. I thought the pain was due to my spleen being twice the size it should be, but you have given me hope that it might be treatable👍👍👍
Thanks Miles, I hope so too. I've had this capsule pain for over a year now, and I want it gone. I only hope my implanted heart monitor doesn't interfere with the scan🤞🤞🤞,
I've had a lot of ct's and other imagings. They have always asked for a written consent form that includes tick-boxing all the relevant possibilites but I always tell them about concerns as well, and ask if there is a problem in connection with the issue/imaging.
I hope you get good results that take you out of pain.
Thanks very much Fili, I will keep everything crossed that they don't find anything nasty. I'm not sure if it's with contrast or not, but it doesn't bother me either way, that's when I had to sign a disclaimer for the contrast.🤞🤞🤞
Forgot to say, the batteries on my heart monitor went phut back in June, so I can't lose data from it. They gave me the option to have it removed, but it doesn't bother me, and I didn't want the infection risk of having it done..... so it's a bit like space junk now.....but without the movement😊😊😊
Thanks Kat, I just hope they don't find any other reason for my pain. Then my consultant will have to admit that I am right, and it is capsule pain, as I've been telling him for over a year now.🤞🤞🤞
Sometimes it isn't easy to get a straightforward diagnosis, hopefully you are the exception and antibiotics will have knocked out the infection! Do they know what caused the fluid in the first place?
