Infection after minor procedure

I had a mole removed from my arm by my GP and went back to get the stitches out today but it was badly infected. I had been so careful with it but I felt it getting really sore 2 days ago.

They gave me a course of antibiotics for 5 days.

I’m worried this could turn into something worse given I was told to be really careful about infection when diagnosed with cirrhosis.

Has anyone had something similar and infection cleared as it should? I’m in augmentin.

Thanks.

Augmentin is the one that knocks everything out for me. Best you can get. Zpack is the most often tossed around here, but it takes forever to work.

Hi yes, it seemed whenever I get biopsies or need wide excisions I tend to get infection of the site, cellulitis, wound opening, I just don’t heal. Sometimes it can take my body 6 months but I am also diabetic. I have found that sometimes Or basically when my antibiotics are done a 3-6 days later the infection came back. So I would definitely keep an eye on the site and if it begins to drain, increase in redness or increase in pain. Call the doc you may need a longer course due to being immunocompromised. Or a change of antibiotics.
