I have symptoms of cirrhosis. Mainly difficulty sleeping, muscle weakness, internal tremors. it has been going on since December. I have had slightly elevated enzymes on two occasions since December. Sodium was low on once occasion and bilirubin in urine on one occasion. Most recent tests showed normal enzymes and urine. I am a former drinker.
I have had a abdominal CT scan which was unremarkable, liver ultrasound unremarkable, and a fibroscan. The fibroscan showed 5.4 kpa and 180 Cap. I have also had a colonoscopy and egd which did not show varices. I had a fecal fat test which was negative for malabsorption. The doctors tell me I do not have cirrhosis but I have symptoms which they tend to ignore.
Is it possible to have a false negative on a fibroscan? I am just convinced that I have cirrhosis. Anyone with a similar story or advice? Thanks.

5.4 fibroscan is a great result speak to your consultant he should reassure you there could be other things causing these symptoms like stress is a big big factor in these things I have had myself dead and buried at least 10 times I even paid for my funeral I even went to hospital and they might aswell have said it's all in your head and sent me home every thing I get I think liver right away and I haven't been right yet
Hi, yes i have many many symptoms and have been ill for awhile now.I have Nodular Regenerative Hyperplasia of the liver which can only bediagnosed through biopsy. It can not be seen in scans etc I had a battle to get the diagnosis unfortunately.
How ling have you had symptoms and do you have any problems eating or weightloss?
