Hi all, this post has actually been prompted by being contacted by a member that has seen one of my previous posts, apart from that I've been away from the forum for a while.
I've been experiencing issues since January 2020, and I'm yet to find out what is causing them. These included RUQ pain, itchiness, eye floaters, tiredness, aswell as no longer being capable of drinking alcohol. This has been accompanied by mildly elevated ALT, apart from this all scans and tests normal.
When the symptoms started I was anxious about them and was worried I'd caused damage through drinking, but looking back this is unlikely as I was just the normal go out once a weekend drinker and I was in my later 20's at the time.
I'm not excluding this as I can no longer drink alcohol without experiencing pain and itchiness at an increased rate the following day, however having read some things I'm starting the wonder whether I had covid in the early days and it had had some impact on my liver. This may be me clutching at straw's but I'm desperate to get to the bottom of it just to know where I stand.
I'm interested to hear from anyone who may be experienced something similar as I've hit a brick wall with my progress of finding out what's going on.
Cheers all 😎

I've knowingly had covid twice, but covid was likely around autumn 2019 in which time it wasn't really known and people weren't testing so who knows? I had flu/covid like symptoms in December of 2019
I often wonder the same. I had an irritating cough in March 2020, then unexplained pains in my abdomen following a urine infection. After months of testing, was diagnosed with PBC in August 2020. I had COVID twice last year but as you say, there was no testing early on.Helen
I've recently returned from a golf holiday with friends on which I tried to have a few drinks. I was away for 3 nights and had a drink on 2 of them. Nothing mental just around 6 drinks through an evening, felt rubbish, and was actually sick on the second occasion. This might sound really stupid thing to be doing, but I've been repeatedly told I have nothing wrong with my liver, so naturally, I'm going to "give it another go." I felt terrible for around 10 days after, with ruq & nausia, so I ordered a blood test online out of curiosity as to what my bloods would indicate. So, having taken the bloods two weeks after coming back, I had two markers elevated. ALT is 59 and albumin 56. These were both in range around 2 months ago.
I'm not really sure what I'm looking for out of this post because I feel I'm at the end of my investigation process having been knocked back by two specialist, I just wanted to vent my thoughts and perhaps recieve some advice.
