i dont understand
Really you need to sit down again with your doctor to get him to explain your results. You've obviously heard what has been found but bèen in too much of a 'tail spin' to take it aĺl in but it's all there in what you've written.
In understanding your fibroscan result a CAP score (fat content) of anything between 290 and 400 reflects S3 (Steatosis grade 3) meaning 67+% of your liver is fatty.
Often this score is possible to bring down with healthy eating and exercise. Though fatty liver can be present in thin folks too if they have other conditions or are on medications.
The kPa score reflects how dense the liver is but the result wouldn't be diagnostic on it's own and needs to be looked at along with bloods, further scans etc. Many factors can affect acccuracy of a fibroscan kPa result so it may not be as advanced as it appears.
If Doctor is suggesting it's NASH/Non Alcohol Related Steato Hepatitis rather than good old basic NAFLD then it is a little mire aggressive so you need to do all you can to help treat yourself plus get on board with anything doctor advises.
The BLT page on NAFLD/NASH may prove useful in that it's clear and not filled with the horrors you'll read about via Dr Google.

Katie is spot on. Don’t Google - you’ll terrify yourself. Ask your GP for another appointment to explain it all to you again. Take someone with you if possible because they will remember things that you don’t. Take a list of questions with you. Getting a new diagnosis is always a shock so it’s not surprising that you’re freaking out. But hang in there. The British Liver Trust info is excellent and they have a nurse led helpline.
Hi NASH is non alcoholic steatohepatitiis, please look at the British liver trust website for information and advice. You can also phone their helpline.britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...
