hi all, just a bit of a light hearted post, instead of my usual doom and gloom 🙄 a few months ago I bought some new scales, the ones I have already work perfectly but these measure fat, water, protein levels etc etc, I mainly bought them because they measure visceral fat and for someone like me that is perfect because I like to know what is going on inside and panic if I have no clue….. anyway I’m pleased at the results so far, still a long way to go but from 6 march I have lost 11kg and dropped bmi by 4.3 but the bit I’m most pleased with is my inside fat, I have gone from 19.3% to 17% visceral fat , I’m over the moon with this cos I kvow it all will help….. I’m a bit disappointed that I keep losing muscle mass, skeleton muscle and bone mass, part of me thinks I’m malnourished due to my liver. But then part of me thinks maybe it’s because I’m not eating the right foods, especially as I’m trying to juggle diebetes, liver disease and wheat allergy , but I really have no idea on that one and am not gonna focus too much, I do exercise more but need to up that as well, anyway not sure if this is of any interest to anyone but I just wanted to say that I’m loving me new scales , have a nice day all of you xx
new scales : hi all, just a bit of a... - British Liver Trust
new scales
Well done you. That is absolutely brilliant. I'm trying to lose weight too. I was put on Pregabalin last August and i put on 2 stone and became pre-diabetic. I have now been taken off pregabalin and put on dulexotine 3 weeks ago. Thank goodness. Lost 7 lbs in 3 weeks. No weight loss since then. Stagnated. Still need to lose at least 14 lbs more. Mine is going slowly. You are doing great. You should be proud of yourself. Have a lovely day. Best wishes Golly x
aww thank you hun, I’m a bit worried it is coming off too quick but I’m really strict plus on a new diegetic drug which helps lose weight, im type 2 …. Good for you as well , any loss is great, even a pound off is better than a pound on , I also stagnated for a couple of weeks but then it kicked back in, so good luck , you will lose the rest I’m sure, take care lovely xx
These sound good, I could do with some now I'm exercising!Where did you get them from sweet? X
They are brilliant hun, they show so much, all mine are in either high range or low , bmi and weight high , but muscle, water , protein etc low, I love checking once a week and seeing the kilos come down, I just need to find a way to stop these muscle drops, I bought them from Amazon they were not expensive , about £35 and so good and east to use with an app xx
Well done! you are making great progress. One thing you might consider is getting a bag of grass fed gelatine powder(you can get it on Amazon) and making some berry jellies with unsweetened cranberry juice and mixed berries like blueberries and strawberries. You can make individual pots and keep them to snack on. They will help with your muscle loss as excellent protein source and very good for liver repair. Try to focus on fresh leafy salads and baked or grilled meats and fish (not farmed fish) with things like steamed broccoli and cauliflower both very good for liver and insulin resistance, also you can cut a courgette in half length ways and. Scoop out the seeds with a teaspoon then fill it with some Boursin or cream cheese and cherry tomatoes drizzle with a little olive oil and bake for about 20 mins in a very hot oven. Drink plenty of filtered water with a little apple cider vinegar in it that is also great for insulin/glucose issues. I am sure you already know refined carbs. Like white flour, grains and sugar are the enemy. Keep up the good work sounds like you are doing an awesome job xx
oh my love thank you so much for all this help and detail, I do worry about my diet because although I’m strict I think I am possibly leaving out things that I do need, your tips are great and I will defo try them, I did hear about acv ( we give it to our chickens) but I was scared to try it incase I had heard wrong, really appreciate your reply and kind words, thank you so much xx
It will be good to track my water weight as it's that I'm trying to shift. I'll take a look on Amazon x
I think the water means how much water is in the body, mine is low because I don’t drink enough water, but yeah it’s good to track everything , let me know how you get on xx
I have ascites so I'm assuming it might be able to distinguish that 🤷 knowing me I'll put weight on, not lose it xx
oh I see hun, it may well do, I’m not totally sure how it works with measuring water, bless your heart, im sure you will still see other results, my body fat hardly moves (the fat we see) but that’s cos of my pcos and diebetes it’s always hard to shift , yet the inside fat is coming down nicely , they are really clever xx
Hi Sophia a very well done to you 👍👏, it’s difficult enough to dust and get the foods right but with the other complications extremely well done 💕💕.
Stay safe All

Dave my darling , thank you so much for your lovely words, I must admit it is hard juggling all these conditions, and I’m not the best at ubsertstanding nutrients etc , if a dietician gives me a plan written down I’ll follow it, im just not great on my own , thats why in so strict cos I’m literally living off salad , veg and chicken lol xx
hi Sophia, is this a scale scale to measure weight that measures fat or am I completely misunderstanding this? Lol.
I’ve not heard of such a thing. Sounds really cool if so.
hi hun yes they are like normal scales but read much more , they read weight ( kilo or stones) bmi score ( accurate as well ) subcutaneous fat ( the fat we see) visceral fat ( fat inside around organs) muscle mass, skeleton muscle, water and protein, it’s good because I’m only really interested in my visceral fat so seeing it come from 19.3 to 17% is really good to see, water and protein are all low but gradullly improving , I love them, I use them once a week and even if I only lose .5 kilo it still shows a slight loss across the board, very clever and keeping me from panicking as to what is going on inside lol xx
Just ordered some Sophia..on sale at moment from amazon for £21.99...I didn't know these type of scales existed .So a shock will be given when I 1st stand on them...Thanks for the information x
excellent hun, I think mine were only about £25 cos I had a discount if I bought them, I can’t remember now, but they are not expensive and so far I do find them accurate, I will pm you Tom if that’s ok and update you with this weeks reads, just to show you what to expect xx
Well done to you. Keep up the routine. Sounds like you’re doing well with all the complications you have. 👍
Thanks for the scales info! Good to know.
