readings from fibro scan

hi everyone

I am new to this site, just joined. I had a fibro scan last week to be told my readings are 270 and 12.7 nurse told me I had stage F3 fibrosis on the liver, I was absolutely terrified. I had my gall bladder removed in 2019 because they said it was not functioning correctly, I think it was liver problems all along, I don’t drink heavy at all, just the occasional one with friends and family when we go out, I eat reasonably healthy and exercise twice a week swimming or walking, so really shocked how this has happened, I am now due to see the specialist in the next couple of weeks, the symptoms I had was feeling bloated after every meal and pain in the right hand side but I realise this was because I had severe steatosis, which I found out myself by paying for a mri scan because the doctors would not listen to me when I said something was not right.

Just wanted to know if anyone can help me, my liver blood tests have all come back normal and this is why the doctors would not send me for a scan, has anyone else had normal bloods to show normal liver function, I am so confused?

Hithe first thing is to stay calm, if you read my previous posts you will understand why I am saying this. I have had gall bladder issuee and I know someone who has had their gall bladder removed and still had pain if they ate the wrong thing. Fatty liver is not to my knowledge painful.

The good news is that you are seeing a specialist who will find out the cause of your liver issues.

My fibroscan was 10.8 kpa and cap of 348 in May 2019, 9.8 kpa and a cap of 308 in August 2020.

I am awaiting another fibroscan because I have requested one.

Your liver can respond!

If you want to message me feel free and wait for what the specialist has to say.

Me! I have normal bloods and normal liver function but have just been diagnosed with cirrhosis.

All my blood tests were normal with my AST being a bit on the high-normal but still normal. That's it. No pain, no nothing. (My understanding is that the liver has no nerve receptors.) I don't drink at all. I'm no saint when it comes to eating healthy but I'm not terrible either. They only found the cirrhosis because I ended up with a small hernia that needed operation after getting aggravated (from too strenuous a stair climb workout as far as we can figure haha).

I can't see a specialist until next month and I am NOT a doctor and NOT giving medical advice but I'm told that because my liver function is still good (called a "compensated liver") I can still use diet and exercise to stop further cirrhosis and reverse the harm that I've done to the still functioning parts of my liver. So what's cirrhotic is dead and ain't coming back but if I can meet with a liver dietician and follow that plan, I can make what I've got left healthier and literally prolong my life. That's a win I'll take. :) Keeping close track of what I was eating and drinking (thank you MyFitnessPal app) really helps and has been an eye opener! Good luck!
