End of life

Im slowing watching my husband reach the end after a bowel obstruction & perferation (caused by bowel adhering to itself) 6 weeks ago which he got through & in the end several episodes of sepsis have severally reduced his liver function that treatment was no longer working.

At the moment its peaceful, he doesnt know as I want it to be stress free for him

He thinks he is getting ready to come home

I would like to thank the ICU staff at the Royal Free for pulling him through it twice & for giving me time with him & those precious last memories

Im sorry love....what a very upsetting thing for your self to see. Treasure what time you have with your husband...very difficult times. Maybe spk with the blt nurses.....ive not so long spoke to one of them...what a lovely lady, so helpful, reassuring...i can't praise them enough.

because he was in the middle of an episode of HE & I have decided that to make the most of time we have left together & to keep him calm & not distressed he hasnt been told

so sorry,I know your heart is breaking, I too am watching my husband slowly die with end stage cirrhosis of the liver, life's unfair, we are in our 60s and thought we would grow old together but now I know I'll be facing my future alone soon, it's so sad, no more dreams or plans for us except funeral plans. Prayers for you. Prayers for his comfort.

We also thought we would grow old together. Im just thankful for the little moments we have left. Today as been a day of painful hiccups

i know the feeling my husband passed away a year ago. I remember the last weeks as if it was yesterday. Just remember to look after yourself and take all the help offered.
