LARGE Cyst, left lobe

Hi,

Has anyone had a large liver cyst, 10cm lenth, which is located more on the left upper abdomen quadrant rather than the right ??

I have been told it's leaning on my stomach. My symptoms are breathlessness, losing weight, potbelly, debilitating heavy/painful, pressure in the middle of my chest, with sharp pains quite often below my left ribs and back. I am having issues with concentration, memory loss brain fog. sleep, eyesight, swollen fingers, feeling crazy!

I had aspiration procedure 6 months ago which gave me respite for 3 weeks, but all symptoms began returning after that and now I am in total agony again.

My next options are a) aspiration with sclerosing agents to stick empty cyst walls together or b) deroofing laparoscopy.

Anyone had either of the above?? If so, how did they work for you? I just want cyst not to refill again, using safest option.

I do feel that my head of department hospital consultant thinks I am exaggerating my pain, which I am not! Everything I read seems to be about liver cystsxon right side of liver and right side pains, whereas mine are mid chest and left hand side, so hence my question for help..

Thank you so very much. Rang up and had a good chat. Helped me realise quite a few things about liver cysts as very little information out there for my symptoms..

Hi, polycystic liver disease is no fun. My cysts were all over my liver. I've got a really freaky photo of my liver when they took it out. I had two defenestration operations. The first gave me relief for about 18 months. My abdomen was flatter, the pain was gone and I could eat. However, new cysts from within the liver grew and the surface became covered again and by the time I had the second op there were too many cysts to make a difference.

I had my transplant three years ago. By the time I got the call my liver had crushed a lung, was pressing on my heart and other organs and making it very difficult for me to eat more than a tiny amount of food without being sick.

However, my Dad, Aunt, Uncle and several cousins all have cysts on their livers and they have responded well to any treatments they have had to have without the need for a transplant.

Best of luck.
