I am really struggling with fatigue and anxiety. Had mild covid 3 month ago and it's been on and off since. Now it's daily for past month. Alt was 68 in recent blood tests and ferritin Serum very slight raise but doc thinks this due to covid. I'm worried i have liver fatigue. Could this be case re alt figure?

Hi Dibble123

We are not able to comment on individual results. However, for liver related questions please call our nurse-led helpline on 0800 652 7330 between 10am and 3:00pm Monday to Friday (not bank holidays) or email helpline@britishlivertrust.org.uk (emails can be sent at any time and are answered during helpline hours).

They will not be able to diagnose you but can talk through your results with you.

Hi Dibble, fatigue is certainly one of the symptoms of liver issues but you can have fatigue with good blood results and no fatigue with worse blood results so there’s no rhyme or reason to it. You can also get fatigue for many other reasons. Have you had your thyroid checked? And your iron levels? Both are easily treated with tablets.

Iknow the fatigue is frustrating but you kinda have to just go with it. The more you fight it and try to push through the worse it seems to get. Pace yourself. Do the things you need / really want to do and then rest. Ask for help if you need it. Switch your phone off if you need a nap. We all understand fatigue on this chat so you’re not alone.

Hi just a thought but Id recommend checking ferritin, B12 & folate levels. Although we’re all different, it’s suggested levels should ideally be in the middle of any range given from tests. I’m struggling with chronic fatigue at moment & my levels are low so GP now carrying out a full iron panel & pernicious anaemia test.

It’s advised not to start any supplements until know what current levels are as, like anything, too much of one thing, such as iron, can also be bad. My vit D levels are good.
