Update on husband, he has been moved to a Gastric ward yesterday. He is covered in so many bruises and pin pricks been told he lost 10 pints of blood and his veins had collapsed. It’s a miracle he’s pulled through and doctors are delighted with his progress so far. Managing to eat and drink. Just trying to slowly get on his feet, walking with a zimmer for support at the moment. The only thing is he has really swollen up in his abdomen and legs so he has been put back on to a water tablet and watching his output. Was talk of a drain but reluctant to to that at the moment. He is Hopefully get a better idea of what’s for him going forward now as will see consultant tomorrow which I hope to be present for.

That’s great news. Hope you do get to catch the consultant too. If you don’t, they will always try to make time to speak to relatives, so speak to the nurse in charge of the ward and ask her to try to fix something up. Monday’s are always manic in hospitals so it may be later on this week if you don’t see them today. I think it would be a great help to you. It still amazes me what the human body is capable of....it’s fantastic that he’s bounced back so well. Take care.

Thank you for sharing this update, it is great to read he is improving.

Best wishes.
