Update on Husband

Hi,

Since my last post he has done a lot of sound searching and I am certain that the Rifaximin has helped a lot with this he appears more like himself. I am pleased to report he is no longer eating loads of sweets and biscuits and has stoped drinking fizzy drinks. He has reduced his smoking and working towards stopping so going in the right direction.

It is as if he has had a lightbulb moment about his illness. Thanks for all your support guys it really helps knowing someone has our backs.

Pam x

Coolio Pam. Great stuff. I might have missed or probably forgotten 😕 does he have HE episodes?

Not really episodes but his speech and thinking was very slow and since he started the new medication he has more clarity. It is difficult to explain

Well HE doesn’t always give you a rotten episode - it just lurks in the background and sometimes you yourself feel nothing’s wrong but others around will tell you later that you were very “odd”. Hard to explain - sometimes called “brain fog”, maybe? That can go on for ever it seems unless the lactulose and Rifaximin is doing a great job. Which despite best efforts in doesn’t always.....

I think fog is a really good way to describe it. Due to his depression it has been difficult to tell where one started and the other ended but he is shouting at the rugby this afternoon just like the old days 😀

Hi Pam,

I'm pleased for both of your sakes that he is more in acceptance of his situation.

Great that he's cutting down on the smoking too.

All good steps in the right direction.

Very best wishes to you both.

Hi Pam again...I have missed something somewhere- your op?

Of course you don’t have to say what it is or anything - I can’t find any previous reference though?
