It's not cramp it's blood circulation as he does less and less with his condition, tell the consultant and you can be prescribed the right medication accordingly. I used to get it in my hands and legs (leg's really hurt) I take 1 aspirin a day now. They treat you in hospital with an injection because of the lack of mobility.
We did have a telephone appointment with our dr but she wasnt very helpful and said theres nothing she could do except send him for a blood test so he doing that on Monday 🙄
If he was in the same condition I was... which it sounds similar. It's the circulation when laid down. Does it happen at night while asleep?Danny x
We also mentioned his weight is creating up again on in 10 days it's gone up 10lb we asked could it be his ascites as he getting breathless but again just said it could be but didnt say what to do but on another note I was at work and hubby doesnt always remember so I only got his word 😒
I used to be pregnant every 2 weeks teehee 😇 (sorry I'm a joker) from ascites build up, I got drained 17 time's since last January.
Also when I was big and my legs were swollen it didn't happen so much (cramp) it happened more after a drain.
You've been through a lot by the sounds of it glad your on the mend 👍
Try not to worry about the weight as long as he gets a solution at the end (sounds as if a transplant). I used to go in at 17 stone and walk out the same day 14 stone. It's all fluid and 1 litre is roughly 1kg. All the best

That's ste he went in at 16.9 came home went to 14.2 but slowly creeping up he was 15.1 last night x
If the diuretics don't work properly as they didn't for me (or immune) the drains will become more frequent. My liver nurse used to try and arrange a bed every 2 weeks. When I eventually got on the transplant list I was still going to my local hospital for drains, it was made easier by the fantastic people who work for the liver team at st James's hospital.I hope you're hubby gets some good news because I know how he feels...😕 All the best

I suspect it could well be linked to his cirrhosis. I used to get a lot of cramp in my legs and in my feet of all places. That's definitely an "OUCH!" location to get it, lol. There's probably a number of reasons why it occurs, which are beyond my knowledge, but it was something i experienced with cirrhosis.
