Elevated CRP ( high sensitivity )

I recently received blood test results indicating high crp ( hs ) 10.6

In july 21 thy were 4 and have now increased significantly

I also have high ferritin levels at around 350 , but these have improved significantly as I adapted my lifestyle.

They were previously 1050

I have the following symptoms

1. injured right shoulder awaiting MRI , but this injury is almost 2 years old and im way down the list regarding priority

2. Very dry sweat glands under arms and in groin area that GP cannot identify the reason

3. Fatty liver ( probable reason for high ferritin )

my liver alts are normal

So between July 20 and January 21 my CRP has doubled but GP said lets leave it 3 months and test again?

Is there any diagnostic tool or test that clearly identifies the area causing the inflammation ?

Obviously, I would rather treat the source than wait for more symptoms

Thanks in advance for your response and definitely for this forum that is really helpful

Have you been to hepatologist? You wrote possible fatty liver did you have ultrasound? High ferratin level might be connected to NASH (or other liver issue) but you should check this with hepatologist. Better to rule out. Good luck.

I can see now you have already tested your liver quite well (your posts). About CRP maybe something autoimmune? But this is very vast area...

hi mintvcx

Thank you for your reply and advice.

I think my liver issues are probably alcohol related and now that I have changed my lifestyle , the results are better re Alts

Something Auto -immune ?

That could be a good point, and one I will investigate.

I have had all the scans on my liver and it showed 24 percent and my fibre scan was 5.8

They discharged me and said that as long as I adapt my lifestyle the liver will improve.

I was probably drinking a bottle of red wine every week and some G@T's

the current raised CRP level is relatively new, as last year March 2020 it was only 2 .

I have a shoulder injury from 2 years ago that is still inflamed, but if this is the cause of high crp, I am puzzled.

I would of thought that it would of affected Crp levels when it first happened as opposed to 2 years after the injury?

I am wondering as to the possibility of arthritis, as I have lower back pain and pain in my right arm ( probably related to shoulder injury).

I wish there was away to identify the source of the inflammation, as I feel reasonably well in myself , apart from aches and pains
