undiagnosed liver pain
Hi Dangabiz
I'm sorry you have pain in that area.
Only your doctors can analyse all your scan results. Different scans are sometimes better for finding specific problems but usually a CT or MRI is very good at finding even the tiniest problem.
The liver does not feel pain, the area around the liver can feel pain so it is usually referred to as RUQ right upper quadrant pain. It can be caused by many things, kidney, pancreas, IBS, ribs or inflammation but sometimes discomfort in that area just cannot be diagnosed.
10 people could have the exact same symptoms and it could be 10 different problems, so even if anyone here had similar symptoms it would not really help.
You should keep your doctor informed, let them know the pain is still there and if it has changed in any way.
It is possible that a lifestyle change might help, getting fitter, eating better foods and stopping alcohol if you drink.
I have Hep C. It can remain dormant for decades before becoming active but the odds of contracting it from a partner is very very small. I do not know enough about it to say for certain but, I think it would show up in a blood test even while is was not active, but my guesses are not based on any medical training, so you should ask your doctor these questions.
I hope you are pain free soon.
Dave
