I received my fourth Covid Jab yesterday- Moderna which resulted in Severe Nausea & Vomiting, Chills & slightly raised temperature 37.9 C . Sore arm as expected.
My previous 3 Jabs were Pfizer with minimal reaction.
Is it safe to continue my regular immunosuppressants ?
Mycophenolate 750mgs mane 500mgs nocte
Prednisolone 5mgs OD.
I’m concerned the efficacy of theJab will be reduced.
How long, if recommended, can I omit the above medication or will I be at risk of a “flare” up of my Autoimmune Hepatitis?
I await your response.
Thank you for your advice

No one on the AIH Support Group Facebook page has mentioned having to come off their immune suppressants at any point during the covid vaccine programme. The very reason you have had a 4th dose is to boost the efficacy of your vaccine in response to you being on that medication.
The fact you've had a reaction means your body is responding to the vaccine so actually it's a good thing that you are getting some of these effects - fingers crossed they won't last you too long and you'll be back to normal a.s.a.p.
He has an unusual presentation in that he had advanced cirrhosis before we even knew he had anything going on - never had any earlier symptoms, no ID of AIH at any point and very rarely saw a doctor. By the time his cirrhosis was identified he was decompensated and very poorly with deranged blood results. Two biopsies showed no ongoing liver inflammation but all antibodies proved his illness was auto immune related. His diagnosis is auto immune cirrhosis but with no ongoing inflammation and it's been labelled burned out auto immune hepatatis. He takes 5mg of pred to keep any quiet inflammation in check but isn't on an immune suppressant.
Hi RL. Have you reported your side effects on the relevent site?Hope you soon feel better.
All the best for 2022
Laura
Hi Rosalind,
Please do discuss any potential side effects with your own doctors as soon as possible, also we would suggest to only get advice about your immunosuppressant medication from your own medical team who know you and can safely advise.
Hi RosalindLorna,I have had AIH since March.I have had 3 pfizer jags and only last Monday 27th Dec got my pfizer booster.Luckily my only side effects were tiredness and a sore arm.I slept beside my husband when he had covid as we were told you are infectious up to 72 hours before you get symptoms. So if I was going to get Covid I think it would probably have been then. I never stopped any of my tablets .I take 2 Azathioprine a day and I am still on 5mg of prednisolone.Hope this helps you a wee bit. Xx
