Feel great but blood tests don’t show it

I have never felt as good as I do right now

No aches or pains, feel and look great ( I think!)

Blood tests are showing high bilirubin though

MRI showed stricture of small bile ducts in liver and also, as I’ve known for two years I have two gall stones

Main bile duct and hepatic vein patent and Doppler tears show all is good.

Consultant who is very good has decided best thing ig is work up for potential transplant if things go south

OGD showed all varices healed and had colonoscopy on weekend was all clear. Next is echocardiogram and appointment with psychologist

Am I to believe they want to do the transplant or just be ready in case of things not going according to plan?

Dont worry Kul. They'll not consider you for transplant unless they think its necessary. But, getting all the ducks in a row just in case is a good thing. Looks like your consultant is looking after you very well.

Hi, I never felt ill before my transplant, apart from vomiting up blood I had no symptoms. It was when my blood results began to go a bit strange I was referred to the transplant team, it took several doctors to persuade me to meet them and have my assessment. It was explained that they would rather do the assessment and get you on the list before you become too sick as everything then becomes too complicated. If your doctors see you needing a transplant they will put things in action sooner rather then later. The transplant team will decide if you are sick enough to need a transplant but we'll enough to survive the surgery.

Good luck

Hilary
