Hello , this might be one for the women on the group. I am having the 2nd dose of Pfizer on Saturday the 31st and if I wasn't nervous enough(scared of side effects), I have started my period today, have any of the ladies in the group had the vaccine while on their period? Were you OK, I have read it could make it a lot worse. Thank you
Covid vaccine during period: Hello... - British Liver Trust
Covid vaccine during period
It makes no difference. My daughter had her jab during hers and she suffers from endometriosis. If it was going to be a problem they would be asking all women if they were on their period before sticking the needle in. So don't worry get it done !
One thing to bear in mind is that most symptoms of most illnesses people have are caused by the immune response rather than the disease itself. What people call "side effects" are actually the result of your immune system mobilising and reacting to the threat they've just been warned about so although inconvenient they're not usually evidence of anything to be unduly concerned about but actually reassuring your body has recognised the threat.
Some people have taken painkillers etc. before vaccination - and that is NOT advised lest it blunt the immune response.
Best of luck.
